About Georgeana

Georgeana - I first got in touch with complementary therapies through Yoga in Brazil around my mid 20's. Yoga being always my passion, hence complementary therapies have followed naturally.

After several years struggling between my love for Yoga and holistic approach to health and an intense City desk job, the regular practice of yoga has waved its inevitable magic, and I have undertaken serious study of yoga over the last few years, I have practised many different styles including Hatha, Iyengar, Sivananda, and Ashtanga with a variety of teachers in London including in particular Phil Aston and Tara Fraser. These have all had a powerful effect on my development, uniquely contributing to my knowledge and experience. Deciding that Yoga and Holistic Therapies practise were my goal, I undertook a teacher training course in Nashik - India at Yoga Vidya Dham (Bihar School of Yoga).

The next step was clearly to undertake studies in Complementary Therapies, in which I have qualified at Diploma Level in Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, an ancient technique of Back Massage, Beauty Therapy and Yoga Therapy.

I believe in treating the body, mind and soul as one, to help release the stress and tension of modern day living which can deplete the body of its natural ability to remain in good health. I am especially interested in treating women's health issues from young to old, covering hormonal problems, infertility, maternity and menopause.

I teach a relaxed, flowing, gently dynamic style of Hatha Yoga, with particular emphasis on the use of the breath not just to open up, stretch, tone and relax the body, but also to open up, stretch, tone and relax the mind. I also have a BA(hons) and PhD in Philosophy, and extensive training in anatomy and physiology.
